Abstract

This article describes the acquisition of the Folk (Ethnographic) Museum by the Municipality of Split in 1923, through which it became a public institution funded by the Municipality with public funds. In parallel, a decision was made to adapt the space of the municipal building in the People's Square and to relocate the Museum to its premises after the municipal offices were migrated to their new building. This process is outlined here alongside excerpts from the Novo doba periodical.
