Sažetak

Vaccination is one of the most powerful preventive measures that has led to the control of many infectious diseases worldwide, while some have been partially eradicated, such as: diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B, rabies, measles, poliomyelitis, rubella, tuberculosis, mumps, yellow fever, and smallpox. Vaccination stimulates the body to produce antibodies against specific diseases, thereby preventing illness and more severe complications associated with these diseases. Vaccination begins in early childhood; at birth, the first vaccine given is against tuberculosis, which protects these same children even when they become adults. According to various studies conducted globally, it has been observed that vaccination has significant benefits, is safe in infancy, and prevents death from many infectious diseases.
