Sažetak

Virtual health assistants (VHA) powered by artificial intelligence (AI) are revolutionizing the delivery of personalized healthcare. By integrating wearable devices and mobile applications, they enable continuous real-time monitoring of patients' health. Utilizing advanced machine learning algorithms and natural language processing, VHAs provide tailored recommendations for chronic disease management, disease prevention, and optimization of health outcomes. These systems not only detect early signs of health issues but also reduce the need for unnecessary doctor visits, enhancing the efficiency of healthcare services. Despite their technological advantages, challenges such as data protection, system security, and ethical concerns remain crucial for broader adoption. This paper explores the potential of VHA implementation, analysing technical challenges, legal aspects, and examples of their use in Croatia and globally. Through the synergy of technology and human expertise, VHAs have the potential to transform the healthcare system and improve patients' quality of life.
