Sažetak
The series The Chosen, directed by Dallas Jenkins, has quickly gained remarkable global popularity and established itself as a significant example of independent television production fully funded by viewer donations. As the first multi-season scripted portrayal of the life of Jesus Christ, the series stands out for its innovative approach to narrating gospel events, expanding the biblical text with dramatized episodes and a layered depiction of characters and their relationships. In this paper, the author evaluates the portrayal of the person of Jesus Christ through qualitative content analysis, focusing on how his divine and human natures are interpreted. The results indicate that although the series does not follow literal literary templates, it remains faithful to the fundamental theological message of the gospel, while the director’s vision contributes to the emotional depth and accessibility of the content for the contemporary viewer.
