Abstract

We will describe the theoretical and conceptual framework of community social work with vulnerable youth in Slovenia. We will summarize the key theories, methods and approaches in social work with underprivileged youth who face exclusion, discrimination and marginalization. We will address the question of where and how to reach these vulnerable youth and how to establish cooperation with them. We will then present joint programs for youth in Slovenia under the umbrella name CONA – Center for Children, Adolescents and Activists. We will show how the aforementioned theoretical and conceptual framework with its key theories, methods and approaches is reflected in practice, i.e. in the program and activities of the community programs for vulnerable youth in Slovenia in question.
