Sažetak
This paper presents a review of the scientific and professional book Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance by Branka Stipanović and Hrvoje Smoljić. The book deals with the foundations and practice of corporate governance with a special emphasis on corporate finance, integrating these two closely related areas into a single theoretical and practical framework. The review analyzes the author's methodological approach, the content and structure of the book, and its contribution to the scientific and professional community.
Special attention is paid to the institutional and theoretical context in which this work appears, as well as the book's relationship to the existing literature in the field of governance and finance. The review confirms that the book represents a valuable and timely contribution to the domestic literature, simultaneously serving as a university
textbook and as a handbook for experts, combining high theoretical foundation with practical applicability. As such, the book fills a significant gap, providing a comprehensive overview of corporate governance and financial decision-making, taking into account
contemporary management challenges, including growing demands for transparency, accountability, and business sustainability. At the same time, in order for the review to meet the standards of critical academic reception to a greater extent, it is necessary to emphasize that the full scientific value of the book is not only reflected in its integrative
nature, but also in how successfully it opens up space for further empirical and comparative elaboration of individual topics.
