Sažetak

Starting from the methodological assumption that Marijan Tkalčić’s philosophy of creation represents an unfinished, yet in its essence coherent philosophical project, this paper seeks to reconstruct the fundamental categories and intentions of his thought. In this context, the biographical and intellectual circumstances of Tkalčić’s work are examined, as well as his philosophical position of dialectical realism, which constitutes the ontological and epistemological starting point of his project. Based on an analysis of key texts, especially the studies “Generations and Becoming (Outline of a Philosophy of Creation)” and “Philosophy and Reality (The Case of Leibniz)”, it is shown that Tkalčić understands reality as a historical-creative process in which human beings and generations, conceived as historical-creative subjects, reveal themselves in an essential sense as active bearers of the possibilities of dialectical becoming. The philosophy of creation thus does not appear as a theory of artistic production, but as an ontology of historical becoming that encompasses the aesthetic, ethical, and pedagogical dimensions of human activity. Although this project remains unfinished, its internal coherence allows for the reconstruction of the fundamental concepts and relations that constitute it. The paper, therefore, aims to contribute to a more systematic understanding of Tkalčić’s place in contemporary Croatian philosophy and pedagogy, and to highlight the philosophical relevance of his unfinished, yet intellectually highly stimulating project.
