Sažetak

Mycorrhizal fungi enable plants to access soil nutrients and water more efficiently, thereby enhancing plant tolerance to abiotic and biotic stresses. Beyond their effects on plant growth and health, mycorrhizae play a crucial role in improving soil structure and overall soil fertility. Although mycorrhizal fungi are naturally present in soils, intensive tillage practices can substantially reduce their abundance and functional effectiveness. For this reason, the application of high-quality mycorrhizal inoculants with a high propagule density is increasingly recommended. Analysis of commercially available arbuscular mycorrhizal inoculants reveals significant deficiencies in product quality, reliability, and standardization. The lack of clear regulatory frameworks and standardized criteria for determining quality allows products with questionable efficacy to be placed on the market. High-quality mycorrhizal inoculants in agricultural production contribute to increased crop yields, the long-term preservation of soil fertility, and reduced reliance on agrochemicals, which are the foundation of integrated soil management systems.
