Sažetak
The paper deals with the issue of syntactic-stylistic stratification of characters in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, with the aim of determining whether it is possible to determine which social group a certain hero represents solely by linguistic characteristics, or rather the type of discourse used. The focus of interest is also on the question of whether it is possible, by observing the syntax used, to recognize what type of character it is and whether its characteristics correspond to its descriptive name. Given that syntactic-stylistics presupposes the study of the functional-stylistic and expressive marking of stylemes, the paper will be based on syntactic analysis, expanded by insight into the character of the individual actor. The Little Prince (USA, 1843) follows the poetics of late modernism and is classified as a contemporary fairy tale. The characters are most often personified, and in accordance with their function, they bring certain life wisdoms and therefore require an exemplary recipient, who will recognize them and be able to translate them into the spheres of their own existence. The work is based on a group of characters whose discourse most adequately confirms the initial premise.
