Sažetak
This article discusses the four-year project (2024–2027) Dictionary of the Dubrovnik idiom, conducted at the Institute for the Croatian Language. The project aims to develop a born-digital diachronic dictionary of the Dubrovnik idiom, covering the period from the 16th century to the end of the 20th century. Given that a reliable, corpus-based dictionary of the Dubrovnik idiom does not yet exist, this project cannot rely on existing works; furthermore, considering its intended users, its concept is innovative and without precedent. Consequently, well-known lexicographic challenges are magnified, and solutions become more complex. The authors – one the project leader and the other a long-standing e-lexicographer – describe the extent of the need for this dictionary and the conceptual framework that makes it a pioneering work in many respects.
