Sažetak
The Požega City Theatre is one of the first teaching bases of the Theatre Department of the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek. At the Požega City Theatre, over the last 15 years, students of acting and puppetry have found a rare and precious space for professional performance conditions. They could feel the space of the stage and the relationship with the audience, explore the laws of the craft, develop skills, solve and create tasks, and then, by questioning the space of playful performance theatre, produce their own works. As a teacher of (stage) movement at the Osijek Academy, an associate for movement in a number of projects, and a mentor for graduation plays, I participated in a long-standing collaboration that resulted in a series of excellent plays that were either created in the Theatre’s production, or that the Theatre took over after the final or graduation exams at the Academy. But most importantly, by following the work and artistic growth of Marijana Matoković, a former student and now colleague, I witnessed the launch and development of a professional theatre scene in Požega, which was the initial vision and purpose of the collaborative project between the Požega Theatre and the Osijek Academy.
