Abstract

This study presents the first detailed analysis of the funerary
cones of Menkheperreseneb and Denreg in the Egyptian Collection
of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb. Despite their modest
appearance, these objects provide valuable insight into funerary
architectural practices and strategies of self-representation
in New Kingdom Thebes. By examining their provenance, inscriptions
and historical context, the study discusses the identity and
status of their owners and highlights the significance of the cones preserved in Zagreb, which have so far received limited scholarly
attention. In doing so, it contributes to the broader study of ancient
Egyptian artefacts in the museum’s collection.
