Sažetak

This article briefly presents the fundamental epistemological ideas of Thomas Reid and their influence on the thought of Alvin Plantinga. In the first three chapters, we introduce Reid’s key views on the principle of common sense, the inductive method, and providential naturalism. In the fifth chapter, we highlight Plantinga’s interpretation and incorporation of Reid’s ideas into his own epistemology and his epistemological theory of warrant. In the sixth chapter, we offer a critical assessment of Plantinga’s understanding of Reid’s thought. In the conclusion, we point out several shortcomings in Plantinga’s interpretation of Reid’s philosophy.
