Agreement between Nikola Tesla and J. P. Morgan: New assessments

Abstract

The paper analyses the complex business
and personal relations between Nikola
Tesla (1856–1943) and J. P. Morgan Senior
(1837–1913) in the period from 1900
to 1913. It includes the reasons behind
Morgan’s investment in Tesla’s unrealised
wireless system, developed at Wardenclyffe (Long Island, New York) between 1900
and 1907, Morgan’s motivations for, and
other contributing factors to, cancelling his
support as early as March 30, 1902. This
marked a major and tragic turning point in
Nikola Tesla’s life and work.
