The Situation of Young People and the Effects of Youth and Student Ministry on the Well-Being of Marriage and Family

Sažetak
This article highlights the need for catechesis within youth ministry and for its continuation in ministry to married couples. Youth/student ministry and marriage and family ministry are, in fact, two links joining the entire chain of human existence, as well as the mission of the human being as a creature (Gen 1:26–28). The Church always seeks to respond anew to people’s needs, including those of young people, among other things by offering them targeted catechesis. It is also very important to connect youth/student ministry with marriage and family ministry, as well as to continue working with married couples. There are indications that priests are not sufficiently prepared for this pastoral work. In addition, there is a lack of materials, as well as of coordination among those responsible for youth ministry and student ministry. Accordingly, the ratio studiorum for candidates for the priesthood should itself be revised, all for the benefit of marriage and the family in Croatia.
