Psychometric properties of children's and adolescent's Eating Habit Questionnaire
Neala Ambrosi-Randić
Sažetak
The aim of the study was to examine the Eating Habit Questionnaire as an instrument for measuring eating habits and behaviours in nonclinical population of schoolgirls. The Questionnaire was administered to 225 elementary (5th to 8th grades) and 272 secondary (1st to 4th grades) schoolgirls in Croatia. The analyses indicated adequate internal reliability of the instrument for both groups. Concurrent validity was demonstrated by significant correlations between the Questionnaire and independent measures (Adolescent Dieting Scale, Body Parts Satisfaction Scale, Body Mass Index and weight estimations). The concurrent validity was slightly better for the older girls. The factor analysis of the Questionnaire provided four factors in both samples. On the whole, the Questionnaire might be a useful tool in screening disturbed eating habits and behavior in school girls.
