Sažetak

Evaluation data of psychological instruments collected on specific populations such as patients with Parkinson disease are rarely to be found. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of applying two tests of cognitive functioning to a specific field of clinical practice. This is especially important since these tests became available to Croatian practitioners only recently. Using the Coloured Progressive Matrices and Crichton Vocabulary Scale (Raven, Raven and Court, 1999; Raven, Court and Raven, 2001) we tested a sample of 58 patients (23 female), aged between 48 and 83 (M = 66 ,85 ; SD = 9,08). The average difficulty indices for CPM subscales are: subscale A p=.74; subscale Ab p=.62; subscale B p=.47. The same indices for CVS are p=.56 for A series and p=.55 for B series. We, therefore, conclude that both instruments can be applied for psychological evalution of patients with Parkinson disease. The same can be said for the relative variability of test results. The reliability of both tests (Cronbach alpha=.90) is very satisfactory considering the small sample size. However, not all subscales have psychometric characteristics this satisfactory. A moderate correlation (r=.51) between CVS and CPM justifies the use of these two tests for investigating two different ways of information processing (parallel and serial).
