Sažetak

With modern globalisation process - the unstoppable, worldwide process in the post-modern society with prevailing economic interests – as its starting point, the first part of the article points to the causes that have led to globalisation, as well as to the limitations of these processes. The influence of technology and science, the fruit of modern times, has resulted in strong individualism and destruction of social dimension, and has put the emphasis on technical-rational functioning of socioeconomic relations. However, the desire for self-realisation of a modern individual questions the very meaning of freedom he/she has been longing for so much. That is why in the second part of the article the author points to the possible perspectives of the solution to the crisis of the modern society, emphasising the need of a modern individual for rediscovering the importance of dialogue and mutual assistance as a new form of the globalisation process. Christianity as a religion of dialogue and faith in the personal God can provide important guidelines, and educate people for new, more humane relations in the globalized, post-modern society.
