Sažetak

The life of M.Sc. Darko Deković – philologist, writer, long-time chairman of the Rijeka Branch of Matica hrvatska, and an untiring researcher of the Croatian Glagolitic heritage – was cruelly cut on 4 August 2008 by a sudden illness. From his youth days, he was particularly active in several fields of public operation. In his work, one of the most important components was the scientific activity. Within the framework of this activity, he was primarily devoted to researching the Croatian Glagolitic script and Glagolitism. This paper offers a general survey of the scientific activity of M.Sc. Darko Deković, particularly emphasising his work at the Croatian Academy’s Institute for Historical and Social Sciences in Rijeka.
