Sažetak
Antimicrobial treatment in patients with bloodstream infections is a complex issue. Bloodstream infections (BSI) include a wide range of diseases from transitory bacteremia to sepsis with or without septic metastases. Clinicians wish to treat BSI as short as possible, and at the same time maintain adequate level of safety and efficiency. Antimicrobial treatment shorter than the usual could offer a number of advantages, however choosing the right patients for such treatment presents a real challenge.
