Sažetak
Celiac disease is an inflammatory disease of the small intestine caused by a genetic
sensitivity to gluten. Along with somatic clinical manifestations, emotional difficulties are
also common and are followed by significant reduce in quality of life. The basis of treatment
is a lifelong gluten-free diet. Adherence to the diet regime results in the withdrawal of clinical
signs and symptoms of the disease and improves the quality of life of ill children. In the
treatment of children suffering from celiac disease the parents have an important role, so it
is necessary to provide a support to the entire family.
