TRENDS AND PECULIARITIES OF LUBRICANT ACTIVITY WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO CROATIA AND ITS SURROUDING MARKETS

Sažetak

Abstract
The trend of significant changes is continuing on developing markets, including also Croatia and its wider region. Within the region, there are considerable differences and various impacts on the lubricant market, while the lubricant quality development trends, as well as the condition of both passenger and heavy-duty vehicle pool, differ from one market to another. A special impact is that of global trends in terms of the required quality level of lubricants and their related products. The basic intention of this review is to try and present all the peculiarities and differences, as well as mutual impacts, of the said markets - especially the current impact of the double economy – on the lubricant sector in the region, with a special attention to the Croatian market.
The first part of the presentation states the estimates of global lubricant consumption, with a special attention of the consumption of lubricating grease. Also presented are the basic statistical data referring to Croatian market potentials, as well as other market characteristics both in the region and in the world.
In the second part, we shall try and present the most important trends regarding the quality and quality requirements of lubricants that will impact Croatia, as well as its wider region.
In the end we have stressed some important laws and estimates of the market-related issues bearing long-term impact on the development of lubricants market in Croatia and its wider region.
