(Un)Erzählbare Geschichte(n) in Anna Kims "Die gefrorene Zeit" // (Un)Speakable (Hi-)Stories in Anna Kim's "Frozen Time"

Abstract
Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Problematik (narrativ) gefährdeter Identität angesichts einer traumatischen Historie in Anna Kims "Die gefrorene Zeit". Ausgehend von Kims ‚Poetik der Fremde‘, die das Potenzial transkultureller Erfahrung literarisch in der Auseinandersetzung mit Krieg und Traumata abtastet, werden die (Un)Möglichkeiten einer Darstellung des Kriegsopfers und seines grenzüberschreitenden Status im Verhältnis zu den Hinterbliebenen behandelt. Dabei erweist sich die Erzählbarkeit eigener traumatischer Geschichte einerseits durch den stringenten Vermittlungsrahmen traditioneller integrativer Narrative gefährdet, andererseits von einer paralysierenden Affizierung des eigenen Selbst im (narrativen) Annäherungsversuch an die Betroffenen geprägt.
The following article analyzes the problem of narrating an identity disintegrating under the influence of a traumatic history in Anna Kim’s novel "Frozen Time". Based on Kim’s “poetics of the Other” which explores the literary potential of transcultural experience in the representation of war and trauma, the article focuses on the (im)possibility to represent war victims and their borderline status in opposition to that of survivors. In this respect, the ability to narrate one’s own traumatic history proves to be endangered both by the stringent framework of traditional, integrative narratives as well as by the paralyzing influence which the attempt to bear witness to the trauma of the Other exerts on one’s own self.
