Abstract

The Mariopteris (Zeiller) is distributed from Namurian A to Early Stephanian in Europe. In Dobrudzha Basin numerous specimens are found mainly at flood plane claystones and siltstones. The habitat and reconstruction of the plants inducts opinion for creeping manner of life. The climatic changes are reflected in the architecture of species. One specimen with attached seed is found and gives a proof for the pteridosperm belonging of the genus.
