Abstract

The adult flexible flatfoot has a vast spectrum of deformity, which makes decision making for management quite challenging. Furthermore the patient’s activity levels also dictate the kind of surgical intervention which may need to be adopted. This article highlights the evolution in the classification and treatment rationale of this condition based on the author’s experiences. We also describe certain new techniques such as an allograft tendon reconstruction specifically the work up and surgical techniques which have formed part of our treatment algorithm.
