Abstract

This paper describes the dependence of the strength of the concrete in regards to the diffusion coefficient of carbon dioxide in dependence to the temperature and humidity of the environment. Calculations are designed for the time of carbonation of concrete and the corrosion of the reinforcement's protective layer in concrete columns. The proposed relationships can advantageously be used in predicting the depth of carbonation of concrete works.
