Abstract

Reaction of the title compound I with aromatic aldehydes afforded a,b-unsaturated ketones II, which were allowed to react with cyanoacetamide, ethyl cyanoacetate, hydrazines. Treatment
of I with hydrazines or amines gave V and VI.
