Abstract

Homodinuclear coordinative compound of Co(II) with terephthalate bridge and o-phenanthroline has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis. The crystal structure was determined by single crystal X–ray diffraction technique. The coordinative compound was immobilized into functionalized silica with thiol groups and tested for its catalytic activity towards styrene oxidation in the presence of H2O2. A conversion of 89.75 % and selectivity of 85.4 % for benzaldehyde formation was obtained.
