Abstract

Among a great number of newly synthesized alloys containing
mercury, the system Cu2MnAl1-xHgx was studied by X-Ray diffraction,
neutron diffraction and magnetic susceptibility technicques.
The aim of the study was to determine the degree of order
with respect to the possible trnnsition between the B2 and L21-
-Types and its effect upon the magnetic properties. It was found
that the Curie temperature strongly depends upon the Hg concentration.
All compounds with x > 0.4 are ferromagnetics. Neutron
diffraction powder patterns taken on aged samples indicate that
they became disordered i. e. B2-Type.
