Abstract

In power generation industry, there is a clear trend for generator step-up transformers over the past 40 years – the average size of units has decreased over time. The factors driving this trend are separate but linked. The one with the most pronounced impact on this is the trend of moving away from large centralised generating stations towards more decentralised units.
