Abstract

In the extensive material of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (SCS)/Yugoslavia in the Archives of Yugoslavia in Belgrade, a report has been preserved written by Dr Rudolph Archibald Reiss, head of the Department of Technical Control of Banknotes of the National Bank of the Kingdom SCS, from 3 August 1923, on forgeries of 10 dinar/40 crown banknotes issued in 1919 by the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom SCS. This document is interesting and undoubtedly important for knowledge about forgeries of dinar/crown banknotes. Reiss’s report describes types of forged banknotes of 10 dinars/40 crowns issued in 1919 by the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom SCS, that have previously not been mentioned in numismatic literature.
