Intermittency analysis of multipion production process in relativistic nuclear collisions - evidence of non-thermal phase transition

Abstract

With the help of the scaled factorial moment method, we have studied the interaction of 24Mg-AgBr at the energy 4.5 A GeV. The whole process involves determination of the intermittency index (αq), which ultimately measures the variable λq (λq = (αq + 1)/q). The occurrence of a minimum in the variation of λq as a function of q suggests a non-thermal phase transition and different regime of particle production during the hadronisation process.
