Abstract

The paper experimentally investigates the modal parameters and damping properties of a damping system of a honeycomb optical table levitating on four magnetic vibration isolating supports. It is shown that self-centring vibration isolating supports based on a permanent magnet system can be used to suppress oscillations of the optical table. After the modal analysis, it is obtained that natural system frequencies are 6.03, 301.8, 438 and 558 Hz.
