Quantitative analysis of the Ursell-Mayer method and semi-free gas model in the theory of liquid helium

Abstract

In this paper we show that the Ursell-Mayer method is unpractical in the theory of liquid helium. The model of “semi-free gas” gives a good qualitative result for the ground state energy and is correct in the zero density limit; a plausible above limit range of densities of its applicability is derived here.
