Abstract

The average cross sections for the reaction 115In (n, n') 115mIn, 115In (n, y) 116mIn, 113In (n, n') 113mIn, 197Au (n, y) 198Au, 111Cd (n, n') 111mCd 110Cd (n, y) 111mCd, 27Al (n, p) 27Mg, 64Zn (n, p) 64Cu, 68Zn (n, y) 69mZn, 138Ba (n, y) 139Ba, 135Ba (n, n') 135mBa + 134Ba (n, y) 135mBa, 58Ni (p, n)58Co and 87Sr (n, n') 87mSr + 86Sr (n, y) 87mSr have been measured in the spontaneous fission spectrum of neutrons from a small 252Cf source. The results are in general agree ment with other data in the literature. In the cases where energy differential cross sections were available the average cross sections have been calculated using for the neutron spectrum a Maxwellian with T = 1.42 MeV corresponding to an average energy of 2.13 MeV. The comparison of measured and calculated values indicates strong disagreements in the cases of the 56Fe (n, p), 138Ba (n, y) and 135Ba (n, n') + 134Ba (n, y) reactions.
