Consequences of nonseparability of quantum mechanical wave functions

Abstract

An analysis based upon fundamental properties of quantum mechanics shows that the electric Aharonov-Bohm effect does not exist. This conclusion is not incompatible with experiment. The significance of the nonseparable nature of quantum mechanical wave functions is discussed.
