Abstract

CdxZn1-xS ternary alloys were prepared by evaporating a homogeneous mixture of ZnS and CdS powder with different alloy compositions x. The electrical conductivity increases with alloy composition x. At x < 0.8 the electrical conductivity of the ternary alloys CdxZn1-xS is independent of temperature. The dependence of the energy gap of the system, CdxZn1-xS on its composition factor x was determined. The infrared spectra of the system CdxZn1-xS was measured in the range 4000-600 cm-1.
