Abstract

This technical paper deals with fire protection and explosion protection, in design phase, in building phase and operation of the Combined Cycle Cogeneration Power and Combined Cycle Power Plants. Basic fuel for Combined Cycle Cogeneration Power and Combined Cycle Power Plants is Natural gas and back up fuel is light destillate. Very often there is only Natural gas without back up fuel. In near future HEP plans to build new Power plants based on fuel gas only; new Combined Cycle Cogeneration unit 100 100 MW in TE-TO Zagreb, new 250 MWe Plant in TE Sisak and similar one; 250 MWe Osijek. With operational gas turbine power plants in Zagreb, Osijek, Jertovec, we can guess importance of fire protection and explosion protection in these type of plants for HEP.
