Abstract

The mass balance of a small glacier in North-Iceland is estimated during a 52 day period in the autumn of 2002. The accumulated snow is measured, precipitation is simulated and sublimation is calculated from weather observations. The estimations indicate that precipitation is an order of magnitude greater than net transport of snow and sublimation during periods of blowing snow.
