Acta Chirurgica Croatica, founded by Ante Petričević, MD, Ph.D., is an official journal of the Croatian Society of Surgery. The journal publishes reviews, original papers, reports basic research or clinical applications in the field of general, thoracic, cardiac, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology and anesthesiology as well as technical notes, rapid communications, case reports, resident corner, surgical hypothesis and letters to the Editor. The journal is open access, and all previous issues are available online. Special features include sections on new surgical techniques such as minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery, and advances in surgery-related biotechnology, for example, equipment, interdisciplinary perioperative management, and surgical oncology. Although the journal is managed by the Croatian Surgical Society, contributions from authors working in other countries are welcome. Acta Chirurgica Croatica aims to be a forum for the communication and exchange of ideas concerning various aspects of surgery. Furthermore, the journal seeks to promote Croatian medical research within an international context through the careful selection of papers. The journal is open for publication of supplements and publishing abstracts of scientific surgical meetings in Croatia. We encourage all surgical experts to become our authors and contact us with suggestions and comments.
