Economic reform agenda for Montenegro – bridge to the EU

Abstract
In March 2003 the Government of Montenegro adopted the Economic Reform Agenda through 2006. Key pillars of the new economic Montenegro’s system are: Open market economy, Private ownership and property rights protection, and Freedom/protection of contracts. Strategic goal of Montenegro is the EU and NATO membership. The Agenda is focused on economic aspects of those goals. In the upcoming period the focus of attention of the Government of Montenegro will be economic growth and development, because that is important way to increase living standard and life quality of all citizens.
