METHODIC SPECIFICS OF TEACHING OF CELESTIAL NAVIGATION

Abstract
Object of this work is aimed to improve the quality of the education of Celestial navigation, the subject for which is necessary to adapt to a new situation in maritime practice. The celestial navigation methods have had extremely important significance in the historical geographic discoveries and through long centuries were the only way of orientation and positioning during sailings at open sea. However, with the evolution of the correlative scientific branches, especially informatics, astronomy, stellar mechanics, satellite technics etc., the old methods are necessary to be accommodated with the practical needs, the syllabus of object to be reduced and teaching to be brought up to date.
In this review of the matter, system and method of Celestial navigation, pedagogic and didactic items and particularities of this professional school subject, are presented in the short lines. By the fundamental pedagogic analysis, the teaching forms and learning methods are proposed. Also, the instruction means, teaching, learning and practical places are suggested.
