Abstract

The book «Culture in a Shop Window», by Daniela Angelina Jelincic provides basic guidelines of successful management of cultural goods. Based on the existing, especially foreign literature, and the author's research experiences, the book «Culture in a Shop Window» provides a solid framework on the rules to be followed in order to effectively manage cultural heritage in the tourist environment, leaving a space to (cultural) managers to form a system of better use of cultural heritage, based on the presented experiences and their own practices. It is evident from the way how the subject of cultural heritage management is discussed, that it is a complex and challenging problem which affects different professions, particularly economy and art history, therefore, for its systematic and scientific, deeper elaboration, it is necessary to take an interdisciplinary approach. This book presents an interdisciplinary and significant source of secondary information from the field of cultural heritage management. In addition, the value of the book is the "hot" subject it deals with, as well as in the recognized purpose of scientific and professional approach to resolving problems of cultural heritage management. Finally, it is a useful book that offers a valuable contribution to the corpus of the lacking literature on this subject in Croatia, a stimulus for the future development and implementation of successful cultural heritage management.
