Abstract

This book review deals with the second part of the Cultures and Globalization series published by SAGE Publications under the title The Cultural Economy and edited by Helmut K. Anheier and Raj Isar. With its large scope of 661 pages, 49 authors and contributors in 29 articles it offers a comprehensive view of recent global and regional trends. Culture is becoming increasingly important for the economy and the economy increasingly relies on cultural resources to create products which have specific cultural values and meanings. The authors in this book tackle this complex process through perspectives from social sciences, humanities, arts, policy studies and various local and regional realities.
