Abstract

Bacterial disease of the brown bullhead in culture was investigated. The fish were analyzed by standard clinical examinations and pathoanatomical investigations. The disease is characterized by the occurrence of a wound on the backs and fins, and adhesions between the organs of the stomach cavity. Bacteriological analyses (physiological and biochemical characteristics of the bacteria) were analyzed in samples of skin, fins, liver, spleen, heart and kidneys of the diseased fish. Determined was the presence of the bacteria Streptococcus faecalis subsp. liquefaciens, which by antibiogramic tests showed the highest sensitivity to the antibiotics oxytetrackiclin and gentamycin.
