Abstract

Newer trends in methodology of literary history point to single-dimensionality of historical synthesis, exposing them as attempts for universalisation of locally and subjectively marked points of view. Since Felix Vodička, requests for new, more comprehensive and versatile models of histories of national literatures, which culminated with postmodernism, have been heard. The concept of hypertextual literary history would be able to, at least partially, answer to those demands -especially through the possibilities of endless gathering of primary and secondary materials and leveling of reader's self-sufficiency during its elaboration

Keywords

hypertext; postmodernism; methodology of literary history; history of national literature
