Abstract
Attempting to repair some of the literary-critical injustice done by the academic negligence of the work of Split poet and singer-songwriter Toma Bebić (1935-1990), this paper endeavours to give a reasoned account of the basic components and characteristics of the diverse oeuvre of this idiosyncratic and extremely unconventional Split artist, whose writing exhibits a richness of various forms and hybrids of them – aphorisms, social criticism, socially engaged verse, amorous and erotic poetry, as well as children’s poetry for adults, and visual poetry or calligrams.
