GLASS DILECYTHOS FROM ASSERIA

Abstract
The article deals with a rare example of a glass “double bottle” from Asseria. Its origin, purpose, and datation are considered on the basis of typological characteristics and close analogies. A group of specific glass items with bodies divided in two compartments can be dated to the period between the second half of the 1st century and the end of the 3rd century AD on the basis of several comparable examples with datation. Dilecythos from Asseria was probably made in the late 2nd and the early 3rd century, as a product of Gallic workshops from the Rhine region.
