Abstract

The booklet Ghirlande conteste al Clarissimo Signor Sebastiano Quirini (Padua, 1588), written by a little known poet Stefanello de Petris (Petrić) from Cres, contains a detailed description of eight intermezzi performed in honour of ‘conte-capitano’ Sebastiano Quirini in Osor. This small book, kept in Bibliotheca Marciana in Venice, throws new light on the concept of the coexistence between the art of music and theatre in Renaissance Croatia.
