Abstract

This article analyses the effects of a sports event. The America's Cup, on the underlying structure of a city, in this case Valencia (Spain). Different stakeholders' perceptions and expectations are evaluated following the regattas. This article presents the methodology used to value stakeholder opinions and also reveals how satisfied they are with the event. The model presented in the
paper captures statistical differences between the markedly negative and positive impacts perceived and not perceived by stakeholders.
